Wordpress 2.7 Debuts

Posted by David with No Comments

Wordpress 2.7, a significant redesign inside and out of the popular blog software, is now available for download and installation. Download from Wordpress.org.

About the installation, I found it to be extremely easy – simply upload all of the new Wordpress 2.7 files into a blog’s folder that contains Wordpress. Wordpress 2.7 installs over the older version. There is no need to revise or replace the WP-Config file.

Once installation is complete, sign-on to yourblog/wp-admin. You will be greeted by a notice to click to update the database. Click, and the update process takes just a few seconds. The next page will be confirmation, Okay.

The biggest visible change is the control panel … completely remodeled and reorganized. I am still getting accustomed to it but like what I see.

If in any doubt about installing Wordpress 2.7, check with your Web hosting company, first. The only issue I encountered was with the All-In-One-SEO plugin that should be deactivated before installation of Wordpress 2.7.
