Wordpress 2.6.5 is immediately available as a free download, and fixes one security problem and three bugs. Wordpress recommends everyone upgrade to this release, and it’s easy.
Just download version 2.6.5 at www.wordpress.org and place it temporarily on your desktop. Then, FTP all of the files to your Wordpress blog. That’s it. No need to take your blog off-line or anything else.
Incidentally, Wordpress warns against trying to use a version 2.6.4 that’s floating around online. That is a fake version of Wordpress.
