One of the really important features about Wordpress is Akismet anti-spam. It keeps your Wordpress blog free of spam, and is one of the best spam filters I’ve seen.
But you must get a Wordpress.com API key. Just sign up for a Wordpress blog. Â It will be a blank or dummy blog in the name of your real self-hosted Wordpress blog. Make sure to use a valid email, and Wordpress will email you an API key. Enter that in the Akismet configuration on your blog under Plugins, Akismet Configuration.
